Did We Really Need Another Scare About The #Flushot?

Is this for real?!?!

That was my first thought as I skeptically watched.  I thought it was just a very well produced practical joke.  Not real.  Just a spoof.  BUT, it’s not! It’s actually 100% real, and that’s just way too scary.   I thought I would post it since the vaccination issue is something that we are all so concerned about with our own families right now.

The topic of vaccination is something that we make a decision on whether we we want to or not.  “No decision is a decision” as my father always says, after all.

As of right now, we’re still a “no” here at Chez Bellaziza on the H1N1 and Flu vaccines.  We’re also careful of where we go and are trying to limit outside contact to a reasonable minimum since there seems to be an outbreak in our area within the past few days.  Lots of probiotics and hand sanitizer here!

I have to say though that I have never felt quite this way before. It could be because of the media circus surrounding the flu, vaccinations and/or H1N1, or because of being a medical statistic a little more than I’d like to have been over the past year.  Okay, perhaps both.  Pretty scary video though either way.   I just want to make sure my kids stay safe… oh, and healthy! Didn’t those words used to not go together that way?  Know what I mean?

Oh My goodness that was quite emotional for me. Scary stuff. Thanks for sharing.

That is quite shocking, and I feel sorry that something like that happened to that girl.

But how do they know that the flu shot caused her medical problem?

  • bellaziza

Yes girls. I was SO shocked. I was really happy that I did see it though… so then I wanted to pass it on to all of my mom friends like you here on BFT. I know it's a little scarier than something I would normally post, but information is power and we all need all the power we can get when it comes to health issues and protecting our sweet families, in my opinion. I personally want to know everything on both sides before I make my decisions. Anyone else out there like that? Can I get an 'AMEN':)?!?!

Great question and I thought the same, but I'm sure Inside Edition does their homework as far as all of that. I am still curious. Do post a link if you happen to find an answer or something else on the topic!

  • bellaziza

No problem Natalie! I know you are just as concerned for your family as I am for mine. I was glad I had seen it, so I knew that many of our fabulous readers here at BFT (like yourself:)!!) would be too.

We never get any flu shots here. We don't trust the government, and we don't trust the pharmaceutical companies. I remember back when a mother of a daughter in the military who was going to be forced to get the anthrax vaccination, the mother somehow got a hold of some of it and had a private lab check what was in it. There were nasty stuff in it; and after she went public on short-wave radio, all the anthrax vaccinations went bad from the refrigeration unit going off when the electric went out. Yeah, right! Now, we don't hear anything about it. Look at the soldiers in Desert Storm who were given some pill and a shot, they ended up with some sickness that they were able to be pass on to their newborns. Don't trust these people for a minute.

I am still in the middle, I am raising a grandson with autism and just don't want to take the chance of more neurological problems, but on the other side with the flu's going around I want to protect him. I just don't know what I am going to decide.

that is SO sad! I can't believe she can run and talk fine but when she stops she can't.

  • nightowlmama

I posted this a few days ago. and now my video is not showing I wonder why. Says it was takin down for not following some rules.

  • bellaziza

Are there rules I was unaware of:)? Do let me know if so! Thanks!!

We have made an informed decision not to vaccinate our children and this video is only one of many, many cases.
A permission slip was sent home with my son for the H1N1 vax to be given at his school – on the back was a number you can report vaccine injury. No thanks – my kids are healthy :)

  • bellaziza

Right Jamiase… and if “vaccine injury” were a runny nose or a headache, I'd be cool with that! It's the paralysis and autism and developmental delays that freak me out! No, not me! … and NOT my kids!

  • http://www.welcometomarriedlife.com/ Krista

I saw that somewhere else (facebook maybe), but didn't watch it. It's sooo sad. :( We don't do flu shots in our house although I had one when I was pregnant with my son. Everyone is so right, all the effects just aren't known and I read a study recently (sorry, can't remember where) that the flu shot doesn't actually reduce the prevalence of getting the flu. That's encouraging… snort.
Just make sure you take care of yourself if you do get sick and you should be fine!

  • bellaziza

Yes Krista. I like your name and I second your snort…hehe!

I agree that this is very scary, but my limited research of dystonia revealed that there are many causes of this affliction (not all of which are known) and that the flu shot is not a definitive cause of this woman's condition. In addition, there are some experts who are not convinced of this woman's dystonia diagnosis. See here: http://www.examiner.com/x-13791-Baltimore-Disea... . For us, although very scary, this example did not deter us from vaccinating our kids. Both have had the seasonal and H1N1 vaccines already. I understand peoples reluctance to the flu vaccines but I hope they really do the research and make a very informed decision rather than one based on such scary and unique examples.

This is scary. These people have not done enough research to say this vaccination is good. It's just a desperate response in panic. You cannot do that to a country.

I'm so glad that she is out and telling her story. My heart breaks for her.

Our family has never done flu shots. We give the kids regular vaccinations, but not flu shots.

I've been listening and reading and the more we discuss this, the more we are deciding that we might not be doing this flu shot.

However the media is being used as a propoganda tool to cause much fear and panic so that people respond in fear instead of logic or/and also to make this flu shot mandatory. That's despicable.

It's the same way, I think there was not a recession, until the media started it's propoganda and then everyone started to hide their money and stop spending.

I really hope families will take the time to discuss this and demand answers.

I posted this on my blog and linked you. I hope you don't mind.
