vaccines I don't believe are completely bad for us ... there is a major coincidence that some diseases have been taken away with the onset of vaccines, but I think there are a lot of other things to consider on why these diseases have diminished that the majority of medical professionals seem to ignore.

As far as H1N1 goes ... we have no idea what these vaccines will do to us long term, we do know what getting the flue will do?! We can only trust our God to guide us through the knowledge we have and the peace He gives. It is one of the hardest things I have had to deal with yet as a mother ... I don't know why I find it so difficult, we have to trust our instincts more I think.

I think there is a middle ground with the whole immunization debate. Getting no immunizations does not seem smart to me. And getting every single one as soon as you can without doing research is not smart either. If regular immunizations worry you, you can request preservative free ones and take a slow paced immunization schedule. We have never received flu shots and will not be getting the H1N1 even though their school is giving it out for free. I just do not feel comfortable with it. If we were in a higher risk category, I guess I would consider it more seriously. My boys have received their regular immunizations, beyond that, I am more hesitant.

I definitely agree. Informed decision making is a goal for all moms and dads for sure, in my opinion. I have to say that I'm having some problems with the whole vaccination thing in general though. I have found an abundance of information for sure. It all seems so extreme though - one way or the other. Worst part being that most of it IS written by reputable organizations and educated people.

Still something I'm up in the air about. Camilla has not been vaccinated for anything yet. Isabella is up to date, but is not getting H1N1... as of right now anyway.

Isn't it the hardest thing; to make decisions for your kids that could harm them either way?

Sounds like Dr Oz's kids might not be in the highest risk group. That group including pregnant women and children under 2. He actually said at the end of the interview that those in the high risk groups should view helath care workers getting vacinated and take it as an encouragement. Just think we should look at ALL sides when making an informed decision.
