The last picture is SO beautiful. I love the idea of buying a larger size, not just for the long hemline, but also so you get more use out of your purchase. Just another way to stretch mommy's dollars. Great post! The property looks so peaceful and lovely.

And you know, this was outside of Isabella's “normal”, so I think it is okay that you kind of had to “teach” her how to enjoy the experience. It doesn't mean she is quite jaded yet!

Great post!!! I am reading “Last Child in the Woods” right now. You have got to check it out. It's all abt the importance of nature in a child's life. That last picture is awesome. Thanks for sharing!

With all our technology, it is getting harder and harder to just breathe and enjoy nature. You're so right that it's important to teach our kids how to stop and smell the rose petals.

I am so glad I read this. I am a city girl, through and through, and I live in the mountains now. I don't “get” this, “Oh, look at how pretty the trees look” or “Did you see those clouds?” My inner response is, “It's a tree. Like that tree. Or that tree. So what?” You the idea. Now my children, they see a rock and get excited. Some bark on the ground becomes a treasured item. This is all thanks to my husband who sees the beauty in the simple. I must remember to thank him. Because if it were up to me we would still live in the city and my son would never be able to sit for 5 whole minutes (eternity for a 2 year old) watching the birds eat out of the bird feeder. Which lets mommy watch a little bit of Project Runway in peace and quiet.

I'd love to see what kind of hell my boys could raise at the magical forest. THAT would be interesting! Sweet pictures, I'm just jealous I don't have a girl! I wonder if Charlie would let me put an over-sized dress on him. hmmmm….
