We are very little prepared…this book would definitly help and would get me more motivated to put things down in writing!

  • sandra kao

i am not prepared at all. this product would at least make me moderatly prepared. the website is awesome!

  • http://barelydomesticmama.blogspot.com Joanne

We’re not prepared at all. I think we’re in that fearful stage since our little one is 20 months old. We don’t want to discuss it because we know it can happen. Of course, we’re not really helping ourselves or our son by not discussing it or planning for the future. These products would help us to sit down and actually make the plans we have been avoiding. We could really use guidance while figuring all that out.

  • Hollie

I read the excerpt and I’m really not feeling very prepared at all! I have medical and other information ready for people who on occasion watch our son, but nothing in case neither my husband or I could be reached. The story is a bit scary, but sometimes that will probably work to get us to take action. Thanks for sharing this resource!

  • http://www.spoodles.wordpress.com Spoodles

Wow, we’re not even slightly prepared. Maybr this book would be the kick in the rear end we need to start planning for our untimely demise. Hard to think about, but it can happen to anybody.

  • Kristina G.

I am a new mom of an 8-month old..so I would say…I’m moderately prepared but highy intrigued! All I’ve learned so far is that you have to be persistant and prepared to wait wait wait! when taking care of legal stuff.

  • Natalie

Yikes! I’m not prepared at all. I read the sample excerpt and am realizing this book will help me think about the unthinkable. It has great ideas about how to make sure your kids feel connected to you even if you die. Wow.

  • http://growingababyinseattle.blogspot.com Carrie

I think we’re fairly prepared, but it would be nice to know for sure what we still need to do. And I have no spare time to find out another way, so it would be great to have a fast-reading book to fill me in on the details.

  • Marlena U.

I am not prepared at all! UGH!! We have examples of the legal paperwork in an envelope but we have not completed it for our family. I feel like such a bad parent! Reading this website has already given me a jump start on what I need to do…and so much that I hadn’t realized I needed to do!! I love that the kit comes with Audio CDs on How to Choose the Right Guardians, How to Complete Your Forms, How to Address Questions Your Family and Friends May Have, & Other Considerations You Haven’t Even Thought Of Yet About Naming Legal Guardians For Your Kids. m_huston(at)hotmail(dot)com

  • Vickie Couturier

wow, after reading that im not prepared at all, yikesssssss, this would help me know what we need to do,what a mess for everyone if you didnt prepare,so looks like we are going to get better prepared, thanks

  • http://thebukiblog.blogspot.com sarah b

im sad to say that i am not prepared at all! Makes me worry about what would happen to our son if something happened to us!

  • blima

I think we are fairly prepared but I would love to read the book

  • Jean D.

Fantastic giveaway! After fights following both my parents’ deaths, I’m definitely ready for different results in the future. I’d prefer the peace of mind knowing my kids had a positive plan ahead of them.

  • Rayna

I read part of the excerpt and I am feeling a little scared for our kids at this moment. We have a will in place, but no written instructions or anything for if a babysitter is here or we cannot be reached. I think I will be buying this book if I do not win your contest. Put my mind at rest, that my kids will be OK if I am gone.

  • Claire

Oh goodness – I join the ranks of not prepared at all – scary as we do have a friend who lost a spouse ad the logistics were awful! So, we have a ton to do and could use help getting prepared!

I thought differently, but apparently I’m not prepared at all either! lol Something we could all use, it seems :)

  • Danielle Cook

humm. I am in a different situation. I feel like I know what I need to do to be prepared, but my husband hasn’t a clue…a book like this might help him get on my side of the street and start thinking to the future. He always says my planning ahead is becuase I am a pessimist. Things always work out for him bec. he is an optimist…I think they are working out for him becuase I am doing the planning behind the scenes and steering it.
    Thanks for the book reccomendation!

  • Summer

I am not prepared at all and frankly the subject always was scary for me to even think about. From looking at he website and the book contents, it looks like it would help me tackle some tough and scary issues without being terrified and in that process allow me to be a better parent by looking ahead and making the right choices now!

  • http://fordydaysandnights.blogspot.com/ Susan

We are moderately prepared. I would love to read the book though and feel much more secure about that portion of our future.

I love all these different points of view. I say I am ready and prepared and then the day might go by and well…..I pull a Scarlett O’Hara and think tomorrow is another day…AND THANK GOODNESS FOR THAT! I will try all over again and eventually I will follow through on all of my goals. Good luck to everyone.

  • Tobster

We are sooo not prepared. This would really help us put things in order in the event the unthinkable every happens.

  • Kristina G.

I don’t believe too many people are prepared at all, YIKES!! :) And legal things should be sorted out FIRST! Great book

  • Emilie P

We are not even remotely prepared either and with two young ones it is not acceptable. While we do have life insurance we don’t have a will and that is mostly because my husband and I can’t agree on who should take our children should something happen to us. This would help us out tremendously! I think it is great that someone knowledgeable took the time to show us what our “inaction” could do to our children. Thanks!

  • Jennifer s

I read the book excerpt and I just starting crying! I know that I am not prepared at all in case of an emergency and we have three kids and another on the way. This has already opened my eyes to our poor planning. I really hope I win this one! Thanks so much for the wonderful giveaway.

  • http://projectzoe.blogspot.com/ Zoe Lee

I have been bugging my husband for the last few years, that we need to make living wills…and with this book, i think he would take action. It seems pretty down to earth and easy to read/use. thanks for the a fab contest.

  • http://projectzoe.blogspot.com/ Zoe Lee

I have your button on my blog.

  • connie m

I love the fact that the book explains the need for planning with stories showing multiple scenerios. People get busy and forget how important it is. I had no idea how some of the other steps besides just a regular will there are. This would be so helpful!!!!

  • carol lewis

I would say moderately. Better get to work!

  • http://www.FamilyWealthMatters.com Sahara

Wow, I LOVE all the comments about the kit, site and book!! I work with Alexis and feel the Kids Protection Plan is SO needed in our world. I gave the kit to my brother and sister-n-law over the holidays and they were STUNNED at the detail of the forms…and were HORRIFIED at all the things they had NOT thought of until going through the process.

It was the best gift I could have ever given them…and they are grateful. Just the thought of my 18 month old baby niece potentially being put in child protective services makes me cringe. And she often stays with my parents who are local to the area where my brother lives. I cannot imagine if they were also denied rights to care for my niece even temporarily while long term arrangements were sorted.

Get the kit now. That is really the bottom line. Alexis has made the price so unbelievably affordable so that all families at any income level can take part.

Look forward to seeing you on the KPP site! http://www.KidsProtectionPlan.com

    Happy 2009.
    With love,
    Sahara

  • Colleen P

We are so unprepared, we don’t even know where to start! I was reading the story about Courtney’s aneurysm and it’s scary what scenarios could happen to anyone, especially us, since my dh has been prone to spinal tumors. I think this book would be a good motivator for us to get our affairs in order.

  • susan varney

usually we play it by ear which occasionally leads to problems i need to be prepared this can get me moving in the right direction

  • christopher h

we’re not prepared at all, i’m afraid

  • Kim

ummmmm, not prepared at all! Shameful.. I hang my head in shame!!!

  • http://fordydaysandnights.blogspot.com/ Susan

We are moderately prepared but I would sleep better at night if we were more prepared. I love that someone took the time and expertise to put such a great book together for parents who are busy and just don’t think enough about such things on a daily basis. I guess we always think bad things won’t happen to us and when they do we leave our unpreparedness to our grieving family.

  • David Bertolo

My wife is a medical doctor as am I so I hope that our family is prepared but I would still like to have a copy of the book to pass along to my friends who are less prepared.

  • Nan S.

I fall into the Yikes category, I’m afraid. I’ve not done any planning for the inevitable. This book and kit would help me by leading me step-by-step through the process of estate planning. I think the product is very well put together and will sell very well due to its uniqueness and well-targeted marketing. Thanks for the giveaway!

  • Marci

We are moderatly prepared, but do need to update and finish.
It would help us reach our goals of being completly prepared.

  • http://rockle.blogspot.com rockle

There should be a category for “completely in denial that this kind of thing is even necessary.” Because that’s US. We’ll be married 10 years in April, and the only kind of conversations we’ve ever had about this subject are “please make sure my AC/DC CD’s go to …” and “Can you make sure they play this song at my funeral?” Now we have a daughter, and we REALLY need to get it together, for her sake.

  • http://thedirtywork.blogspot.com Patti

We are not prepared at all…I know what we kind of need to do, but this might be a good kick in the butt!

  • Kristy V

We need to make a will! We need this product badly!

  • Bing

Unfortunately I fall into the not prepared at all category. The book will certainly help me get prepared. Thanks for the giveaway!

  • Amy

I love that its both entertaining and practical. I’m bookmarking the site so that I can return in a few months to get it and also to forward to others!

  • Quanda

My family are not prepared! I would love to win this book to assist my family in preparing for financial security for my children, spouse, etc.. Her website was full with information from various people who already read her book. Encouraging.

  • Kristina G.

It is difficult to think of emergencies but you simply NEED to be prepared!

  • Aura

OMG is the exerpt scary! I must say we are moderatly prepared and have life insurance and legal guardians set up for my kids. We planned on doing a will with a financial planner but never got around to it. My friends thought I was crazy as a 20 year old planning a will. My father in law was a social worker for the state and saw what happened to families in tragedies where nothing was set up. Especially with families on medicaid the state takes all assets. All our cell phones are programmed with ER spouse and home so that people looking for numbers can easily find them. Also, everyone who takes care of my children, including play dates, are not only given mine and my husbands numbers but both grandparents cells. I know it’s scary and put our cell numbers in our kids shoes and our sick child always wore his medicalert bracelet (where they have all emergency family numbers including doctors who also were given guardianship in emergency), but I’m scared and would love to win this package!

  • http://admin Tasha, Bellaziza Columnist

Aura – The ER Spouse and home entries in the cell phone is a great idea! Thanks for sharing!

  • Jamaise

What a terrifying subject. It just goes to show that if Alexis Martin Neely was not prepared – working in the field, that most families will not be prepared either.
What a sence of peace to know that you have legally binding plans for your children if the worst should happen.
Thank you for shedding light on such an important subject.

  • Jamaise

    I’ve got your button :) ))

  • Lolita

Scary. No, I haven’t planned for my family and have no idea how to start this. Which is why winning this would be so useful!

  • http://jamericanspice.blogspot.com/ Colette S

This is scary. We are not prepared at all and this is something we’ll need to sit and discuss.

We are a family of four and hopeing to be 8 and this would definitely help us and set our minds somewhat at ease, especially in these crucial times.

I would love to win this to help us get a start on this, but if not we are definitely starting this discussion

  • Mellissa

I am not prepared at all but looks like this book could be a life saver.

  • ellen cunningham

I like how it helps you with decision making. Thanks for the chance.

  • Kathy Conley

I am moderately prepared and this would help me become fully prepared. I like her style in the excerpt!

  • Annmarie

This product is an absolute necessity today! Even though we are moderately-to-highly prepared, I’m sure we could take a tip or two (or three!) away from this book! And the planning kit looks fabulous!

  • Kristina G.

None is reallyprepared in reality. This book and kit is so wonderful, and reminds us that life IS unpredictable.

  • Marianna

This looks like a very unique and thought-provoking book! We are not very prepared, which is something I’m a little embarrassed about. As a nurse, I witness people die far too young far too often. I think it’s one of those things that is uncomfortable to think about so many people try to avoid making those plans/decisions.
Thanks for the chance to win.

  • Leah

This is such an amazing book! It makes me realize that we as a family are moderately prepared. There are still some legal details we are missing! This book would make sure everything would be tended well for our sweet’um if need be! Thanks so much to Alexis Martin Neely for caring so much!
